Week Notes # 5

Apologies it’s been awhile since my last post, this is in part due to tweaking the blog and being busy with one thing and another.

So, what’s been happening? Recently I visited Martineau Gardens with Balsall Heath WI, which gave me an opportunity to practice with using my camera. I thought it was quite an apt setting for the first wear of this cacti & succulent patterned shirt from Topshop! Thanks to Rosie for taking the photo.

I also had a bit of quality Mother -Daughter time at the NEC where my mom and I went to the Stitching, Sewing & Hobbycrafts Show. I was in awe of the work that went into this knitted garden, unfortunately I couldn’t fit it all into shot!

I try to keep this blog a positive space but with recent events such as Brexit and the uncertainty of what’s going to happen next, the Orlando shootings and more it’s easy to feel a sense of despair and hopelessness. This tribute to Muhammad Ali street art  in Kings Heath has such an apt quote for the current climate.

LINKS I’VE LOVED

My friend Sairah wrote this blog post for Sister-Hood about some of her experiences as a non white person in Britain

How cute does Courtney Barnett  look in her uniform in the video for Elevator Operator, see if you can spot all the cameos.

WHAT I’VE WATCHED

Think I’m regressing as I’m currently rewatching Gilmore Girls from the start (I’m definitely Team Luke & Lorelei)

I thought Bel Powney was amazing in the Diary of a Teenage Girl which I finally got round to watching.

I loved Craig Roberts and Paul Rudd in The Fundamentals of Caring. Thought it was a great take on the Road Trip movie genre.
