Hi! Hope you’re all having a great Bank Holiday weekend. After a busy week at work it’s been lovely pottering around this weekend and catching up with friends. Saturday was spent rummaging in the charity shops in Kings Heath and Moseley. I bought copies of Moranthology by Caitlin Moran and How To Make Jewellery with Tatty Devine, I can’t resist picking up books in charity shops!
Today saw another visit to Moseley to meet up with my friend Jo and her daughter EJ. We had a mooch round the Moseley Vintage Fair which is run by the lovely Graz and Steve. Although there were lots of gorgeous vintage dresses and cute retro homeware on offer, I ended up just treating EJ to a sweet looking wooden pull along rabbit. After the Vintage Fair we headed to Moseley Pool and Park for an impromptu picnic.
Moseley Pool and Park is one of my favourite places to go to and sit and chill out when it’s lovely and sunny. It’s a private park which requires a key to gain entrance but they hold different events throughout the year where you can get in for free. It’s a beautifully maintained park with lots of wildlife including coots and the park’s most famous residents the black swans (see above photos).
I think tomorrow (Bank Holiday Monday) will be mostly spent on writing up some blog posts and hopefully I’ll be able to grab a bit of time to catch up reading my magazines.
Here’s what I’ve loved this week:
LINKS I’VE LOVED
- These hidden gems and unusual sight around Birmingham have been added to my list of places to visit.
- Some useful tips here on decluttering.
- To celebrate their first birthday Impact Hub Birmingham are putting on lots of events this week. I’m hoping I can attend this workshop with Allison Sadler from The People Shop.
WHAT I’VE WATCHED
- Quite enjoying Nick Hornby’s adaptation of Love, Nina on BBC1. I must get round to reading the book it’s based on by Nina Stibbe.
Hope you all have a lovely week ahead, I’d love to hear what exciting plans you’ve got in store.
